Hug group continues the restructuring process, which was launched in June this year after poor financial results and the collapse of planned investments worth 44 billion crowns. This amount was to be invested in Embracer by the Savvy Games Group, owned by the Saudi Arabian government. The first major victim of the announced savings was the Volition studio, which in early September closed after thirty years of existence. The other selected studios had to lay off some of their employees. Now the focus is on the Gearbox Software studio, which since 2021 belongs to Embracer.

According to Reuters magazine sources (via MarketScreener), which cites three different sources, Embracer management is now considering what to do with the Gearbox studio in the future. This must be one of the options sale of studio to another publisher. In this regard, for example, one could consider partnering with 2K Games, which has been involved in the Borderlands series from the very beginning as a publisher. In terms of upcoming games, this continuation of Borderlands one of the hot candidates that Gearbox is currently working on. However, there has been talk for a long time about the possible return of the series “Band of Brothers.”
