Czech studio Boomer Games released Last Holiday in the Steam Early Access program in May of this year. Despite the technical shortcomings of our game attracted a fair amount of attention. Players were especially interested in the setting in a Czech village, the emphasis on humor and the presence of Czech dubbing.
However, recent reports indicate that the future of the project is uncertain, or at least at a perceived crossroads. Game development one of the main authors leaves Antonin Kapushek, who, from the position of producer, screenwriter and dubbing director, was behind the very idea, choice of location and plot of “The Last Holiday”. On the game’s Facebook page, he cited differences with investors over the future direction of the project as the reason for his departure. You can read his full statement below.
“Hey community, as you all know by now, the game’s release didn’t go well for us. We all worked hard on this, but the result was not quite perfect. I’m very sorry, because I’ve devoted most of my life to the game. I would like to continue working on the game, but due to the fact that my view of where the game should go is different from the opinion of investors, I am leaving the studio today and will no longer participate in the development of the game. . JI’m sorry, because the story, dialogue and theme are taken from me, from my youth, from my village where I grew up, and from pranks that my friends and I played. It is a pity that this story will remain untold, even if someone intercepts it and tells it after me, because it will no longer be my story. I don’t know how it will be with study and play. It depends on the investors and what they plan to do with the company. Hi, Tonda is a former producer, writer and dub director for Boomer Games.”
