Tic-tac-toe is known to almost everyone. At least in our country it was one of the games of my youth that was played any time we went on a train journey, or in short, the weather was not quite ideal for some kind of outdoor activity. Many alternative versions of the popular game have been created over the years, and PišK.O.rky is, in fact, one of them. However, circles and crosses are replaced by creatures from myths and legends. At the same time, not only a duet participates in the game, but up to four players are given the opportunity to participate. You can read about how it all works below.

Goals in PishK.O.rkah are always different.
Last time I played 3D tic-tac-toe, it turned out not bad, but I wanted something more special, so the announcement of the PišK.O.rky card game intrigued me a lot. The main idea of this game is that two “armies” fight against each other. Dragons on one side and unicorns on the other. The collision itself takes place on the classic grid, which is available in two variants, offering players a wider range of options. The basic format is based on the idea of 9 fields, while the more complex format offers up to 16. It all starts with choosing a side, shuffling the cards, and drawing five cards from the pile into your hand.
When you’re done, you take one of the special goal cards you use to effectively prioritize your goals. You’re definitely not working with the traditional tic-tac-toe format here, so a clean line connection might not be your priority. In fact, we can say that sometimes really interesting options turn out, which are not always easy to implement, but with the right strategy, everything is possible. That is, the strategy and use of available cards. The set of “symbols” consists not only of basic checkers, which, like crosses and circles, do nothing. In fact, they are just waiting for someone to scatter them or do something else to them.
Each side has its own unique features.
One of the main gameplay factors is that you use special cards to change the established order. For example, the unicorn champion Megas is able to protect adjacent cards of his team from destruction. However, he cannot save himself, so if you target him, he will have fun. On the other hand, Blysht holds a protective hand over him, which, like a horse made of diamonds, is simply impossible to destroy. The horse is interesting, there shouldn’t be any enemy base cards next to it, because they are just so afraid of him that they can’t stand his presence.
Unicorns aren’t the only ones with their own champions. Dragons also bring unique cards to the game. For example, when you throw the dragon Trond between maps and sacrifice it, it will automatically destroy all maps nearby, which can be quite annoying. On the other hand, the ancient can move any card in the neighborhood. However, some products have similar properties. Pitchforks, which allow the spell to be cast after being cast, are an alternative to flamenco, which does essentially the same thing. The set of characters is really diverse, so you can build different strategies.
The ending also has spells. Yes, you read it right. For example, for dragons, after drawing the correct card, you can turn over two of the opponent’s cards so that the specific ability of the horse is more in line with your efforts. Dragons also have access to Dragon’s Breath, which can be used to eliminate a card that really binds you. Unicorns are very similar, but their magic has different names. In addition to spells, PishK.O.rka also has counterspells that can negate the effect of an opponent’s spell. The magic idea works decently. They can definitely shift the balance of power quite a bit sometimes.
In PishK.O.rkah there is a fierce fight between dragons and unicorns.
I didn’t expect too much from the PishK.O.rky card game. But in the end, I got a decent card game that effectively uses the basics of the legendary tic-tac-toe. The drawing of unicorns and dragons is really good, moreover, their abilities can pretty much disrupt your strategy, so you can’t be sure of your victory even for a moment. And if you still have hope, there are still spells that, under certain circumstances, can turn out to be trump cards that tip the scales in your favor.
An interesting idea is that PishK.O.rky can be played by two, four or three people. Personally, I would recommend them to players under 8 years old, but you need to be able to read. For tactics, this ability is very important and at least vital when deploying all cards.
