Hrej/Zingu editors shouldn’t be missing from Gamescom this year. Luckily, with Lenovo and Legion partner gaming laptops, we can bring current reports directly from Cologne. Lenovo Legion laptops are suitable not only for gamers, but also for us journalists.
The lineup of Lenovo Legion laptops is one of the widest in this segment. From the cheaper and lighter Legion Slim, Legion 5 and 7 models to the top-of-the-line Legion Pro models, performance matches this year’s and next summer’s biggest gems. The gates for players are definitely the Lenovo LOQ models, which start at 25,000 kr. For this decent money by the standards of slot machines, you get a laptop with a modern display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz, the current 13th generation processor from Intel and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 6 GB graphics. This is a machine that delivers an excellent performance/price ratio.
We at Gamescom would go with the Slim line because it won’t fit in a backpack, and we can still play something in a hotel. A very interesting version is Legion Slim 5 16IRH8 for about 32 thousand crowns. At 2.4kg, Lenovo was able to fit inside the RTX 4050, which is Nvidia’s current AI-powered graphics line. So there will be no shortage of high FPS even on the go. You will also be supported by a battery with a capacity of 80 Wh.
As an ideal, but still inexpensive solution, we have the Legion Pro 5 16IRX8H at a price of about 55 thousand crowns. They don’t mess around here anymore. The combination of an Intel Core i9-13900HX processor with an RTX 4070 and a 240Hz display will please even the most avid gamer. A total of 24 processor cores are ideal for multitasking and video rendering. In games, you will appreciate one of the most powerful graphics of the current generation. With this hardware, you can play the expansion of Cyberpunk to ultra-detail and with ray tracing.
Just 32GB of DDR5 RAM will handle multiple windows in Google Chrome and OBS is enabled for that. The star, however, is the 2.5K display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 500 nits of brightness. The 240Hz refresh rate is staggering, but don’t worry, you’ll get the most out of every frame with Nvidia G-Sync support.
Lenovo offers all of its new gaming laptop models with a range of premium features and functions. A refresh rate display is already basic, as is 16GB of RAM or at least a 512GB SSD. A wide range of ports includes HDMI, USB-A, USB-C and a Gigabit LAN port. This also applies to Slim models.
In the case of the higher series, you can enjoy a higher quality display with an even higher refresh rate and a 16:10 aspect ratio. Lenovo kept the bezels to a minimum, so the laptop base didn’t grow and the desktop base did. Ideal for editors, schoolchildren and workers.
Whichever model you choose from Lenovo’s gaming portfolio, you’ll always find premium features, a modern look and superior performance. The choice is yours.
