Yesterday, Rockstar Games announced that the first Red Dead Redemption will receive new versions for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch consoles. Taking into account the old assumptions that pointed to the release of a remaster or remake, but most of the players disappointed with the introduction of “simple” portswhich, in addition to the reaction in social networks, is also evidenced by the predominantly negative assessment of the trailer-announcement.
Players criticize first lack of multiplayer and technical improvements, which will at least increase the frame rate or resolution. Not even satisfied with the price, which was set at 50 euros. In this regard, users are pointing to the version originally designed for Xbox 360, which can also be played on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S at 60 FPS and 4K resolution thanks to backwards compatibility without additional investments.
Rockstar also recalls an earlier statement in which the studio claimed that they don’t want to make simple ports of old games. Below you can see some selected posts from Twitter.
