Activision Blizzard Ditches Mobile Devices, Call of Duty and Diablo – INDIAN

When Phil Spencer praised Activision Blizzard for doing a fantastic job of successfully launching Diablo 4 and continuing to work on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, he wasn’t just talking to the wind. The head of the gaming division of Microsoft summed up the results of the second quarter. The financial report shows that Activision Blizzard is phasing out mobile devices, Call of Duty and Diablo.

In the second quarter, Activision Blizzard’s revenue grew 17% year-over-year, while operating profit surged a whopping 80%. Net reserves increased by half a year compared to the previous year. Blizzard surpassed $1 billion in net reserves for the first time and King’s Call of Duty and Candy Crush saw double-digit revenue growth.. Mobile games are very important for the company and in the first months of 2023 they account for 40% of total revenue. Consoles are only in third place, which is why PCs earn more.

  • Mobile: $1.9 billion
  • PC: $1.25 billion
  • Console: $1.19 billion
