The RTX 4060 Ti graphics card with 16 GB of VRAM was released today without any fanfare or additional announcements. It follows the original 8GB model that hit the market in May. However, unlike it, the launch is really stealthy and the map can’t be found properly in the Czech Republic yet. Also, Nvidia didn’t send it to any reviewers, so we’ll have to wait for more detailed tests. By the way, Techpowerup magazine reported that he tried to get the card by all means, including unofficial ones. But Nvidia has prevented any access to graphics by releasing drivers with support for this model just today.
The specs are relatively simple as they are virtually identical to the classic RTX 4060 Ti. The card offers 4352 CUDA cores, boosted to 2.5GHz and 160W. The difference, of course, is the amount of VRAM, which has been doubled from 8GB to 16GB, which can help in some games where 8GB isn’t enough. The problem, however, is that the card still only has a 128-bit bus and therefore a relatively low bandwidth of 288 GB/s, which can degrade performance, especially at higher resolutions.
The official price tag is $499, which is $100 more than the base RTX 4060 Ti and just $100 less than the substantially more powerful RTX 4070. Even before the release, there was also talk that some of the more expensive models were even outperform the cheapest RTX 4070. But it remains to be seen how it performs in the Czech Republic, where we don’t even know prices yet.
