Shortly after winning in federal court in the United States, Microsoft agreed with the British Competition Authority (CMA) suspend the appeal process and reopen negotiations to approve the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. This step must be authorized by the Court of Appeal (CAT), but it must be only a formality. The CMA is currently the latest body blocking the deal.

Microsoft is expected to propose further commitments and measures in the cloud market, similar to the negotiations with the European authorities. Microsoft wants to close the deal by July 18, after which it will take on additional financial obligations to Activision Blizzard. Politicians are putting pressure on the British authorities, and the option is also being discussed that the acquisition will take place despite their displeasure.
