The new PS5 model has long been promised by insider Tom Henderson. According to him, it will be released in September. Here’s what the Xbox owner expects from the new PS5 by the end of this year priced at $399. According to Microsoft, this PS5 slim sell for the same price as the PS5 digital edition without a Blu-ray drive. Thus, in the case of the Czech market, this will be the price about 11 thousand, for which you can purchase the PS5 Digital Edition. PS5 with mechanics costs 13,390 crowns.
The question is whether the PS5 Slim will have a drive at a lower price. Henderson earlier wrote about the new PS5 model with a removable Blu-ray drive. It will be sold separately or as a set. This new model should gradually replace the existing two models. In this way, Sony can speed up and reduce the cost of production. However, if Sony released a PS5 Slim with a $399 Blu-ray drive, it could have a huge advantage and Microsoft would probably have to react to it.

Microsoft is selling the Xbox Series X for $499 and the Xbox Series S for $299. Starting August 2023, the Series X price will increase by $50 in most countries except the US, Japan, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia. The Series S price remains the same. Series X will cost the same as a PS5 with mechanics – 550 dollars / euros, or about 13,390 CZK in our country. The Series X can now be purchased for around $11,000.
Of course, the question is whether Microsoft has any information from Sony. And if so, why hasn’t the Japanese company announced the PS5 Slim yet? The reason may be the fear of less interest in current models when buyers are waiting for the PS5 Slim. If a new model appears, then no hardware changes should be expected. In terms of performance, the console should be the same.
