In 2021, we saw the return of the first part of the famous action series Quake in the form of a remaster. Now it looks like it the second part will get the same treatment, the original version of which was released in 1997. This is evidenced by the newly awarded rating in South Korea. It is the rating association of this Asian country that has already revealed the development of several different names in the past. Quake II Remastered is directly invited to upcoming QuakeCon eventwhich will be held from 10 to 13 August.
If the existence of an improved second part is confirmed, it should follow the example of the first and focus on PC and consoles. Interestingly, in some way this was not the first remaster of this game. Already in 2019, developers from the Lightspeed studio, in collaboration with Nvidia, released a free version called Quake II RTX, which mainly brought support for ray tracing and other technologies from Nvidia.
