Starfield will only run at 30fps on consoles

The Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct have revealed a new trailer and gameplay for the highly anticipated sci-fi RPG Starfield. Shortly after the end of the aforementioned conferences, it was revealed that the game on the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X consoles it will only run at 30fps.

This was told in an interview with IGN magazine by the head of Bethesda, Todd Howard, who defends blocking up to 30 frames per second. striving for consistency and stable frame rates. So it’s clear that even though the game could run at 60fps in some playthroughs, there would likely be crashes in more demanding moments that the developers understandably wanted to avoid.

Howard also revealed that the game will run in 4K resolution on the Xbox Series X console. On the other hand, Xbox Series S owners will have to settle for 1440p resolution. Starfield coming out September 6th on PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
