Czech gaming stores Xzone and JRC have published a ranking of the best-selling games and consoles over the past month. This time it’s the month of May, which has been mostly dedicated to Nintendo and its award-winning new release The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

“Nintendo has always had a bit more trouble in the Czech Republic. Games that were sold in the millions for a large sum of money were most often purchased by a few dozen to hundreds of players in the Czech Republic. For many years, regular Czech gamers considered the Nintendo a ‘baby’ console with Mario and enjoyed playing on PC or PlayStation.” Jan Bobrowski of the Xzone marketing team describes Nintendo’s longstanding underdog situation.
“But the situation began to change rapidly with the advent of the Nintendo Switch console, and the huge success of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in the Czech market confirms this. This is by far the most successful launch of a Nintendo game on our store.” adds Bobrovsky.
The release of the new Zelda also made the list of top selling consoles. Nintendo Switch Ruleswhich this time also surpassed the traditionally best-selling PlayStation 5.

“Second place goes to Hogwarts Legacy. In May, the older console version of the game was released, so the magical RPG has improved by 6 points compared to the previous month.
