What is the best thing about a thriller Alan Wake since 2010 and project Alan Wake Remastered from 2021? Others would probably mention a great original and licensed soundtrack, likable characters, an overall interesting story, or cutting edge technical aspects for the time. But only true fans of the Finnish studio Remedy will say that collecting thermoses is the best thing.

Well, collecting thermoses is, rather, the worst thing. There are exactly 100 of them scattered throughout the game and the remaster and sometimes they are in such stupid places that it’s almost impossible to find them all without the help of some fan guide or video. And at the same time, this activity will not bring you anything if we pass Significant, but not entirely energetic, game time extension and related achievement/trophy. Perhaps that’s why the blue and white thermos with the logo of the Oh Deer restaurant, which can be found on the main street of Bright Falls, has become an instantly recognizable meme in the Remedy gaming community over the years. And soon every fan will be able to purchase it.
The developers from Remedy announced a special collaboration with the Finnish company Airam, from which an opportunity to purchase a real Oh Deer canteen thermos this fall that looks exactly like the collectible from the game. The creators promise a quality, authentic product with a volume of 0.45 liters, combining Finnish design, story and everyday utility. And yes, it will really be a functional thing, and not just a dummy.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time an Alan Wake thermos has materialized in the real world. This was already part of the special promotional item packages that people from Remedy and the publishing arm of Epic Games Publishing used to bribe foreign media and select influencers into the release of Alan Wake Remastered. However, this time everyone will be able to purchase it. We don’t yet know how much it will cost, but it will be on sale from September/September this year. and apparently it will be a limited series.
