It was also important to return to the series’ dark roots. According to game director Joe Shelley, they went so far as to say that Diablo 4 will bring the darkest story the studio has ever created.
The story of Diablo IV takes place approximately 50 years after the events of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, when half the population was destroyed by the archangel of death Mathael. During these years, there were significant changes in the population and dominant factions in the fragile world, which is also reflected in history.

But that’s for sure today the future of the world will be decided by us players. Among other things, the creators offer us to get acquainted with familiar characters from the previous parts of the series. That in itself is enticing to fans.
Diablo 4 will release on 06/06/2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. If you buy the more expensive edition, you will be in the game four days earlier.
