Microsoft’s first major victory. European Union allowed the American company to buy Activision Blizzard. However, the UK recently blocked an acquisition of nearly $69 billion.
The UK regulator has not approved the deal due to concerns that it will change the future of the fast-growing market and cloud gaming, leading to less innovation and choice for UK players in the coming years.
The approval of the European Commission is subject to full compliance with the obligations proposed by Microsoft. These commitments fully address the competition issues identified by the Commission and represent a significant improvement in cloud gaming over the current situation.
