The Ukrainian army continues to amaze with its creative approach in the fight against Russian troops on its territory. The latter affects the world of video games as Steam decks are used for remote control of machine gun turrets.. Surely no one at Valve expected that the laptop could be used for just this purpose.

According to researcher Arik Toler of Bellingcat, the Steam Deck is ideal for these purposes, including great controller and touch screen. The operator is all in one, not a controller connected to a separate system, so there is less worry. In addition, the base model Steam Deck is priced at 419 euros (less than 10 thousand CZK), and control models for such systems can be insanely expensive and subject to export control.

We see on video Chabla tower, which was developed several years ago by the Ukrainian company Global Dynamics. They are equipped with a thermal imager and a rangefinder and can be used for a variety of weapons, including machine guns and grenade launchers. They are the ones that are remotely controlled by Steam Deck. Thus, the operator is at a safe distance, and the towers, on the contrary, can be close to the enemy.

Recall that once Xbox controllers were used to control submarines, as well as giant laser guns. Speaking about the military and the world of video games, War Thunder players have leaked secret military documents in an attempt to correct the inaccuracies of the game’s developers.
