The informant knew the name, surname and approximate address of his teammate, thanks to which the police were able to locate the man and subsequently come to his aid. After providing first aid, he was handed over to the rescuers. It turned out that the man had a diabetic attacktherefore, the quick response of his teammate and emergency services apparently saved his life.
“On Thursday, April 13, shortly before 21:30, an English-speaking foreigner called the permanent service of the Plzen Slovana district department, who reported his friend’s breakdown when they played online together. Both were in different places during the game, and the announcer knew that it was a Czech, and knew his first and last name. He also stated that he should live in Stary Pilsen. Based on the data provided, the permanent police officer on duty managed to find out the address of the man in Stary Pilsen from the databases where he sent police patrols. In addition, he called the victim’s sister, who told him that the thirty-three-year-old man was diabetic and probably had a diabetic attack.
A patrol of a special law enforcement unit, together with Slavic police officers, left for the scene. However, the man was unable to open the door due to a seizure, so the police had to break down the entrance. In the room, indeed, they found a thirty-three-year-old man, unconscious, in a chair at the computer. They gave him first aid and handed him over to the rescuers, who arrived at the scene just a few minutes after them. The informant was informed about the rescue of the man, and the head of the Pilsen-Slovany district department thanked him for the timely response, which greatly helped to contact his friend in time. The police, led by the head of the Pilsen 2 district department, did an excellent job, who was not at the scene, but his work was of decisive importance for saving human lives.” The whole situation was described on the website of the Police of the Czech Republic by press secretary Ondrej Hodan.
