The RTX 4070 is still available at the official price.
On Wednesday, the RTX 4070 graphics card entered the market, to which we devoted a separate article. Review verdicts have been pretty positive, but buyers don’t seem to be too keen on the $599 price tag.
The common phenomenon of the sale of the first batch of GPUs did not happen at all, the RTX 4070 is still available in almost all countries, not only the more expensive models, but also the cheapest ones. Even in the Czech Republic, you will find several cards that sell for MSRP (15,699 CZK in our country), some models are even cheaper.
AMD emphasizes the high capacity of the video memory of its cards
Video memory has been a big topic in recent weeks as new games become more and more demanding. AMD took advantage of the situation and published an article on the blog, where, among other things, it boasts of the high capacity of the video memory of its cards. And in this regard, they have something, because in the new generation it is 24 GB (7900 XTX) versus 16 GB (4080) and 20 GB (7900 XT) versus 12 GB (4070 Ti).
Even RDNA 2 has an advantage over RTX 30 in almost all models, AMD is of course highlighting the high-end in the form of RX 6800 XT and 6950 XT cards, which have 16 GB each, and their prices have been falling lately. In fact, this is AMD’s only answer to low-end models from Nvidia, starting with the RTX 4070. We are still waiting for the new RDNA 3 generation cards, and they are said to arrive no earlier than June, when Nvidia may already have almost the entire lineup out.
Zen 6 is said to use a 2nm manufacturing process.
It’s only been about half a year since the release of Ryzen 7000, the new generation built on the Zen 4 architecture, but since its release, there’s been a lot of speculation about AMD’s future processor lines. A few days ago, Wccftech magazine reported that the job description of an AMD employee who deals with power management of server processors was leaked.
From March to December 2020, he worked on Zen 4 cores labeled Persephone, but the other two data are more interesting. From January to December 2021, he has been working on the Zen 5 cores, codenamed Nirvana, and since January of this year, he has been working on the Morpheus cores that will be used in the Zen 6 generation. According to the description, he will use a 2nm process technology. process, which is information that we did not know until now.

At the same time, given the time frame, it looks like Zen 5 (at least for servers) could theoretically come out this year, which is definitely much earlier than expected. But we’ll have to wait to see if this is finally confirmed, or if AMD continues the classic two-year cycle.
