The topic first appeared in Super Mario Bros. since 1985 at NES. Since then, it has been an integral part of Mario games. It also sounded in a recent film adaptation. Kondo himself collaborated with the film’s composer Brian Tyler to include the motif on the soundtrack. Apart from Mario, he also has soundtracks for other Nintendo games such as TThe Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD or Star Fox 64.
Along with Mario’s jingle, songs such as Stairway to Heaven, Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), All I Want for Christmas is You or Take Me Home, Country Roads also got into the American fund.
