On the occasion of 25 years of activity on the Czech market, CZC published a review in which visited by more than 2000 customers. The survey showed that Czechs prefer to play on the computer, and a quarter want the PlayStation 5 console.
Among Czech players computers and laptops continue to lead. Nearly 62% of actively gaming Czechs prefer dedicated gaming or desktop PCs for gaming purposes, while 16% prefer a laptop. However, a large number of players switch between different gaming platforms (including mobile phones), and almost 40% of those surveyed play at least occasionally on a game console. However, only 15% put the game in some of them in the first place. However, these numbers could be affected by the gradual adoption of the increasingly affordable PlayStation 5 throughout 2023, which is what a quarter of respondents want.
At the same time, the survey showed how the needs of the players are changing, and confirmed the constant hunt for the best available hardware depending on the development of new, more advanced, but also more demanding games. While a total of over 70% of people use a PC or laptop to play games (some of them also play consoles), more than 60% of them are not completely satisfied with their work and would like to improve it. Higher graphics performance, processor speed, more efficient cooling and other options give gamers a competitive edge.
For 9% of respondents, the most popular of all gaming platforms is the PlayStation in its various versions, almost 10% of respondents already own the latest PlayStation 5, and a quarter of all players surveyed want to buy it. This opens up great possibilities and suggests that The PS5 is now poised to boost the overall popularity of video game consoles in the Czech Republic.. The second imaginary place was taken by the Xbox console, which is preferred by 5.5% of all gaming platforms.
“For the gaming community, we are number one on the Czech market, and in this segment we offer the widest range of products of any retailer. In order to get even closer to gamers and geeks, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of CZC, we conducted a market survey that helps us to better understand the current needs of the entire community. We will take into account its results both in our offer of ready-made play sets, and in the preparation of special events and in further communication.” sums up Jaromir Möwald, CZC community manager.
“Complete PC sets optimized for games in the CZC online store cost between 17,000 and 100,000 kroons, while bestsellers most often cost in the range of 20,000 to 25,000 kroons. The most expensive single component of game sets is usually the graphics card, whose performance is key to playing the most popular game genre, 3D action games, in the first place. The most expensive and most powerful of them exceed the price limit of 55,000 kroons, according to the CZC online store, charts from 7.5 to 10,000 kroons are the best sellers. adds a press release.
