Will you be the savior of the western frontier?

Armies of good have clashed with goblins since time immemorial. And it has never been easy with them. Defeating a monster that surpasses an ordinary person not only in height but also in strength is not at all fun. But if under normal conditions the fight against the horde seemed too easy for you, then in the story campaign of the separate add-on Zombicide: Green Horde you will have the opportunity to enjoy the fight against the undead greenskins, which, on the one hand, means the absence of archers with bone bows and nature-calling shamans. On the other hand, you should count on the fact that instead of the group that you have already killed, there are constant waves coming at you.

In total, you have six heroes trying to stop the advance of the horde. You are invited to a barbarian, a merchant, a dwarf, a sorceress and a few more pieces. Each of the characters can be developed during the game by killing your enemies. However, compared to Zombicide: Undead, it lacks playable classes with special abilities. Instead, there is magic here, but everyone can use it. All you have to do is find the scroll and start the magic.

Before we move on to a detailed look at the enemies, let’s take a look at the shape of the city you’re steadily moving towards here through the streets. Classically, it consists of several double-sided pieces that you put together to create cards. They can be worked with barriers that force the zombies to look for an alternative path. In addition to this obstacle, you and the zombies during the game have to deal with water spilled in some parts of the metropolis. Overall, the scenarios are among the strongest, and you can play through them either solo or mostly with up to five other adventurers.

Undead goblins can load you up in Zombicide: The Green Horde

Greenskins are very different from the regular zombies featured in Zombicide: Undead. While classic walking corpses created from humans usually don’t have additional stats, those created from goblins and goblins have very different statistics. The main thing is probably their higher power that their bodies have retained and now they use it to its fullest against the survivors. The range of undead is virtually identical to other board games that represent the Zombicide brand.

On the battlefield, you will encounter mostly shuffling walkers. They don’t rush anywhere and are relatively easy to kill, but when it comes to inflicting wounds, each hit will cost you two lives instead of one. The larger threshers are also slightly obese orc warriors. Their bodies are solid within stamina limits, and besides, the moment they stretch one towards the hero, you automatically deduct three health points, which can already do a lot of damage. Strongmen are also Orc Necromancers. The only ones that the power of this race has not been transferred to are goblins, which is understandable, since their hands are simply not super-powerful boxers. But they are faster than others, so they can perform two actions instead of one.

The imaginary essence of each mission is the arrival of a monster. In fact, this properly mutated orc is not much different from his fellows. Like them, he does not think much about what is happening around him, and simply attacks all living things that catches his eye. The power of this monster is similar to that offered by its slightly obese competitors. However, he has more stamina so regular weapons won’t kill him or even scratch him, as his body only reacts to a hard blow, or a boulder fired from a trebuchet.

One of the main innovations compared to most other variations of Zombicide is the trebuchet. Working with this stone thrower in Zombicide: Green Horde is very difficult. He sucks all the action out of inexperienced heroes in one shot. Its power is determined by what exactly you load into the basket. While a pure rock is capable of killing up to six zombies, a bag of bricks doesn’t have that spread, but with a bit of luck it will easily send three fat orcs to hell. The final form of attack is to throw a boulder capable of taking down the biggest monster.

Zombicide: The Green Horde Targets Experienced

Zombicide has several variations, and Zombicide: The Green Horde is undoubtedly one of the most difficult. So it basically depends on the point of view, the fact is that this universe currently offers so much of it. Ghosts, wolves, or even undead dragons. Yes, everything you can find in it. However, you can play this pack without any other content, which is definitely a big plus. Compared to Zombicide: The Living or the Undead, it’s a bit more difficult.

The main aspect of the difficulty here is determined by the goblins, who are really strong, although their brains have long been out of order. Individual scenarios are interesting stories that are worth going through. The new game elements, led by the barriers and the trebuchet, are also good, but I was a bit irritated by how they were handled. However, I have nothing to complain about other aspects of this work. If you like a challenge, then Zombicide: The Green Horde is the obvious choice for any fan of zombie games.
