Ad Infinitum is set during World War I and follows a young German soldier who returns home after the Great War, but is haunted by the trauma he endured in the trenches. The soldier is on the border between nightmares and reality. Every night he is visited by hallucinations full of terrifying creatures, deadly traps and mysteries. We’ll have to overcome everything and free the poor fellow from his injuries. Despite the context, the game will not be action-oriented, but will require infiltration and puzzle-solving.
“In our game, you have to solve complex puzzles that challenge your restless mind. The mind is so distorted that it loses touch with reality.” Lucas Deuschel from Hekate Studios explained in a new gameplay video.
“Now it’s up to you – the player – to figure out what is real and what can be a manifestation of an endless nightmare,” reserves.
Ad Infinitum will release on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Initially, the game was also planned for older generation consoles.
