AMD releases Ryzen 9 7950X3D and 7900X3D
Finally there are new processors with 3D V-Cache. On Tuesday, AMD released the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and 7900X3D models built on the Zen 4 architecture. We already received reviews a day earlier, and today we will look at the results in them.
The Hardware Unboxed channel brought some very interesting tests, besides testing the classic version of 7950X3D, it also tested the same processor with half the cores disabled. Some games have problems with the chiplet design, which is even worse for those models with V-Cache, where in the case of the 7950X3D and 7900X3D it is available only for half of the cores. At the same time, this is a kind of simulation of what the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which will be released in early April, could be.
On average, out of 12 games, the 7950X3D was slightly faster than the competing Intel Core i 9-13900KS. However, as expected, both processors were outperformed by a simulated Ryzen 7800X3D or 7950X3D with half as many cores. Of course, the results vary from game to game. In some games that primarily require high performance per core (such as CS:GO), the new model is slightly slower than the base 7950X due to the lower frequency. But you can expect pretty solid FPS gains in most games.
Radeon RX 7900 XT Price Drops Slowly
Already at the release of new video cards from AMD, it was said that the RX 7900 XT model was released mainly only in order to better sell the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, which is significantly more powerful, but “only” $ 100 more expensive. This is starting to show up in stores as well, as the price of the RX 7900 XT gradually drops. Videocardz magazine reported that the ASRock-provided card is already available on US online store Newegg for $799, $100 less than when it was released. As for the Czech Republic, some models are currently available for CZK 22,999.
