As Lost Ark’s second year begins for global audiences, Amazon Games tells us that it hopes to bridge the gap between the Western release and the Korean version of the fantasy MMO game “faster than gamers expect.” Following the release of the Lost Ark Anniversary update, developer Smilegate and publisher Amazon Games have announced that they are planning announcements soon to help bring the releases closer.

“After the first year of release in the West, we are very aware of the difference between the Korean and Western versions of the game,” Amazon Games franchise leader Sumin Park told PCGamesN. The worldwide release of Lost Ark is still a long way off, and Park admits that “it’s hard to be realistic when catching up with the Korean version”, citing the time it took to localize the Korean version’s content.

Despite the different schedules, Park tells us that the Western version is better for him, saying that he “benefited a lot from the Korean version overall in terms of the amount of polish Smilegate put into the game’s content before it arrived. to our region.” With the ability to track how players handle content such as Legion raids and new continents, “Lost Ark players in the west can benefit from years of refinement and content and balance improvements as updates hit the game.” west”.

As for those who want to get into the game now and are worried about not being able to catch up, Pak assures us that there are plans for improvement in this regard. “We’re constantly discussing this with Smilegate and will have an update announcement soon that will allow new and existing users to get up to speed a little faster, in addition to existing tools like Power Pass and Hyper Express.”
