Since the beginning of the year, we’ve been hearing from all angles how Sony has been able to increase PlayStation 5 inventory around the world. This is evidenced, among other things, by sales charts. Now comes more proof.

Sony was AMD’s biggest customer last year. The Japanese company bought from AMD chips worth about $3.776 billion.. It represents 16% of AMD’s full year revenue.

In January of this year, Sony reported that it had sold more than 30 million PS5 units. He also boasted of resolving supply issues with the console, which was limited in production due to a shortage of semiconductors. Company officials claimed that PlayStation 5 is now available and anyone can buy it. In this regard, mass advertising was launched.

Microsoft also buys SoC (processor with graphics card) from AMD. By all accounts, the PS5 should have far outperformed the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in this regard. According to recent estimates analysts, a pair of “green” consoles has 18.5 million units.

AMD’s gaming division had total revenue of $6.805 billion in 2022. Profit 953 million.
