What does it look like original modding Mafia since 2002 will probably never completely disappear. Luckily for us. Not so long ago, we were convinced of this by a mod that moved the elaborate Titanic to the city of Lost Heaven. And now, for a change, we have something straight from our meadows and groves. Soon we will all be able to try out the ambitious modification of Rise and Fall, whose The authors from the 7K Czech Studio team intend to take us to the streets of Lost Heaven in the 1920s and 20th century, when a certain Don Peppone ruled the underworld.

In the original Mafia, Peppone was mentioned very briefly. In particular, the protagonist of the game, Tom Angelo, sitting with Detective Norman, spoke of him as Fr. former underworld ruler who helped Ennio Salieri and Marco Morello make their mark on Lost Skies.. We met Salieri and Morrell in Mafia as heads of their own families who were at each other’s throats, but in the past they were Peppone’s closest subordinates. And it is this relationship and the time he worked on Lost Heaven that is the central motif of the Rise and Fall mod.
Finally, the authors have divided the mod, the development of which was officially announced at the end of 2021, into several parts, with the first part will be available for download this Saturday, i.е. February 25/February 2023. There are several reasons to consider Rise and Fall an ambitious mod. The project includes own Czech voice acting, musical accompaniment, textures, models, locations or modifications of existing locations.
For example, the new trailer shows part of the Hoboken area, where brand new buildings grow in the original Mafia (and where Extreme Driving not only hides a taxi for one of the tasks, but also a car that starts to disappear driving after a while). However, Rise and Fall appears to have slums very similar to those found in this location in the 2020 Mafia remake, i.e. the game Mafia: Definitive Edition. So we hope to see more of these interesting details or changes as the game progresses.
