2023 already has a number of strong game of the year contenders, and Atomic Heart is another one of them. The game lives up to all expectations and is an amazing gaming debut for Mundfish. It’s almost impossible to single out a few things in which Atomic Heart is phenomenal because they are exceptional in almost all of them. Not only is this my favorite game of the year, it’s arguably one of my favorite games of the decade.

While it does have its drawbacks, from the slow pace to the annoying combat, Atomic Heart’s addictive mysteries are well worth playing through. For fans of action RPGs with a penchant for alternative historical settings, it’s definitely worth it, and I’m looking forward to what development studio Mundfish has to offer in the future.

Atomic Heart has a lot to offer, but its unique environments, varied gameplay, and often inventive enemies will keep you on your toes as you journey through a ruined utopia. Just keep in mind that while the game looks like an AAA game, it isn’t; Mundfish has made great strides here, but there are clear signs of cut content and considerable lethargy. So you might want to wait for a patch or two to fix some annoying bugs and other bugs.
