Undistorted Resident Evil 4 Remake Experience

I myself am new to the whole series, I watched a lot of walkthrough videos Resident Evil Village with a strong emphasis on witches and the character of Madame Maxime, i.e. Lady Dimitrescu. Even then, I was quite disappointed that I didn’t really try any of the previous titles, because the combination of horror with certain elements of fantasy and science fiction is actually very tempting, and the remakes that have come out so far are often perceived as a kind of standard for how should look like modern remakes. I was very interested in trying the game.

The protagonist of Resident Evil 4 is a US government special agent. Leon S. Kennedywho was sent on a rescue mission to find the president’s daughter Ashley Graham, who was kidnapped by a mysterious cult somewhere in the Spanish countryside. The original game was somewhat revolutionary for the series. Developers have stopped relying on the classic recipe for the horror genre, i.e. eternal darkness and many jump scars. Resident Evil 4 isn’t afraid to create a spooky atmosphere, even during the day, and the idea of ​​a “pious” cult definitely helps with that. The gameplay itself was also slightly more intense, offering more interactions with the environment and, among other things, the mechanics of depending on which part of the body of zombified enemies you hit.

I got into Leon’s shoes at the very beginning of the game, when he arrives in the environment and tries to understand what is really going on around him. You will realize that something is terribly wrong immediately, at the latest, when you watch from afar the unexpected return of tradition. Spanish Inquisitioni.e. burning alive. The story as such is of course exaggerated and far from believable, I would rather compare it to a B movie. But combined with action passages and unexpected moments, it works very well.

I had a slight “acid” only after I arrived directly in a strange village with Leon. It wasn’t very clear to me what I had to do. I wanted to shoot through the area, the game itself told me to try to hold on, which is easy to say, but with nine rounds it’s hard to fill without asking all the villagers to line up. No matter what it’s straight forward bullet between the eyes is not enough to kill a Spanish inquisitor. So I wanted to put more on silent procedure, but again it was almost impossible to get anywhere. I myself actually struggled with a scripted game that I just wasn’t familiar enough with. Only on the fifth attempt did I bet on the correct card, and it dawned on me that I really just had it. continue to work around the village wherever you can and feel free to jump right in between. It was actually fun, I just feel like it could have been handled better.

The key point in the process was that I had to get to a certain barracks in which Leon was able to barricade himself and, thanks to kicks on the stairs, hold out until he heard church bell. At that moment, everyone dropped everything and only the question of what would happen next remained in my head.
