Capcom expects a record year in sales

The Japanese company Capcom has been showing steady growth for several years in a row, and it looks like this year will be no exception. On Monday, the financial results for the 3rd quarter of the current financial year were published, and they look promising. In just 9 months, 29.1 million games were sold, compared to “only” 25.8 million in the same period last fiscal year. But Capcom has even bigger ambitions as it wants to hit the 40 million mark by the end of March, which would mark the most successful fiscal year ever for the company.

Of course, Resident Evil 4 Remake, which the company has high hopes for and which will go on sale on March 24, should help. However, older games are also still selling well, such as Monster Hunter Rise, Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 3 Remake and of course the very popular remake of these two games. In the third quarter alone (October to December) it sold 1.1 million copies, which is a really decent number considering it’s a 4 year old game. This means that it has already sold more than 11 million copies in total, and it is slowly but surely catching up with Resident Evil 7, which is currently the best-selling part of the series.
