Last week, Neil Druckmann, one of the main figures of the Naughty Dog studio, stated that Nathan Drake’s story is complete and the team has moved on.. But for a long time it was assumed that at Naughty Dog, the development of the unannounced new Uncharted was only controlled by developed by a new in-house Sony team. This was actually confirmed less than a year ago by new Sony recruiter Christina-Marie Drake McBreart when she mentioned Link Uncharted. Then there were speculations that Sony had given the green light to a reboot of Uncharted.
And now for another interesting tip. In today’s PlayStation 5 ad, we see not only cinematic footage hinting at Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Horizon Forbidden West or Final Fantasy XVI, but also yet unknown detail with a young woman / girl, which passes through a cave with a burning torch and heads towards a mysterious object. This is an ancient artifact that blows dust.
This is definitely not Nathan Drake and does not look like Lara Croft. The scene may refer to the ending of Uncharted 4 (beware of spoilers). The story ends with Nathan Drake and Elena Fisher’s teenage daughter Cassie discovering relics and notes about their past adventures, and Drake decides to tell her about them. It would make so much sense that in the new Uncharted, Cassie Drake was the main character and picked up where her parents left off.. Such a family idyll…
Sony itself says in the ad that it hints at the breadth of the extraordinary experience taking place in the world of PS5 through the style of a live news channel. “Try to see if you can find all the references to the game” encouraged by the company. The rest of the footage is easy to recognize, but this one is rather odd.
