Through Insider Gaming magazine, we have received disturbing news about the upcoming installment of the Skate series. Testers who are testing the pre-alpha version of the game told the aforementioned magazine that the title in its current form contains loot boxes called Swag Bags. There are currently 16 different loot boxes available, containing a total of 80 different items.

Criticism from the community against the authors, for obvious reasons, was not long in coming. The developers from the Full Circle studio are therefore on official twitter account of the game they rushed with a quick response. In it, they recall their old video, in which they promised that the game will not contain paid loot boxes nor other benefits for paying players.

If the authors keep this promise, then the classic paid loot boxes that are an integral part of other sports games from EA should not be. However, in some less controversial “free” form, loot boxes will appear in the game. Considering that the new part of Skate will be based on a free-to-play model, it will most likely not do without paid additional content. But the release of the game still farso a lot can change during development.
