Sony should start selling in the second half of this year new PlayStation 5 model. But if you’re expecting it to be a more powerful version, or otherwise tweaked hardware, that’s unfortunate. Insider Tom Henderson reportswhich the model will not undergo major hardware changes.
As we already know, the new PS5 version should have a removable Blu-ray drive. But it probably won’t be compatible with the current PS5 digital edition. At least until a major software update.

Sony is expected to phase out older models and focus production on this new version. She has it sold separately or bundled with Blu-ray drive. Some may be glad to be able to buy a mechanical device later, for example, if you find that a purely digital one does not suit you.
It is reported that production will begin in April, and the market launch should take place in September. Sony is said to want to offer by March 2024 up to 18 million consoles. For the Japanese company, the new model will be an advantage, as it will be able to focus on only one thing, which will speed up production.
