Historic hat-trick

Alexander “s1mple” Kostylev was named Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Player of the Decade during the Brazilian Major. Yesterday he added another milestone to that achievement, this time unprecedented. The awards ceremony for the best players of the cult online shooter was held in Stockholm, Sweden, under the auspices of the site HLTV.org. s1mple made it to the top 20 for the third time, becoming the first player in history to do so. For his home team Natus Vincere (NAVI) last season he was able to hit 1.32 and his kills per round average was 0.83. The final share of rounds with the elimination of at least two opponents was 21.6%. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbeau of Vitality took second place.

eSuba ends CS:GO

The eSuba organization has made the decision to end support for the permanent CS:GO lineup, sell it, and drastically reduce other sections. This happened mainly for financial reasons. In the following statement, CEO Bersen Hoxha explains what led him and his colleagues to make this decision. One can only hope that this significant departure will not be permanent.

dgotbm5a week 2 esports news review

“Dear eSub,

In the life of every sports and esports team, there are many emotional moments, joy and intoxication from victory, but also sadness and disappointment from defeat. Today it is my unpleasant duty to address you with news that belongs to the second category and is not pleasant for those who have blue blood in their veins. The decisions we had to make as part of the leadership were some of the most difficult in the history of eSuba.

These are the measures that we were forced to take due to the current development of the industry and the economic situation in the world. Although we have been able to grow year on year in business in recent years, the rate of growth in the costs of operating teams at the highest level is now many times higher. On the other hand, this is not reflected in the growth rate of sales in the industry. Whether the influx of sponsorship money, or funds to support the teams from the organizers of local competitions are far behind. At the same time, these imaginary scissors are increasingly exposed due to the inflow of capital from large investors. We have always prided ourselves on being able to finance our work through our own commercial activities. However, this is currently unsustainable in the current global economic environment. The economic impact of our key partners in 2023 directly impacts our economy as well.

In 2023, we will downsize and streamline our entire organization. In terms of game titles, we will only focus on the two most popular games, LOL and CS:GO. These decisions influenced CS:GO the most, where we decided not to continue with a full section.

Our new strategy for this game will focus on nurturing and developing young talent. This is an area where we have been sensing huge potential to shift the whole scene for many years now, and one that hasn’t been given enough attention in the local scene yet. This concept has been built into our strategy for a long time, but currently we want to accelerate it even more. Thus, young players will get a chance even at the highest competitions. We understand that in the short term this may affect the performance of our section, but we are confident that in the long term we will be able to grow players who will conquer the front rows again. With this move, we would like to continue our work with young players in the past and bring other up-and-coming talents onto the scene, such as sAvana or M1key. We firmly believe that we will continue to delight all our fans with our game and that the stories we will create together will now be worthy of blue blood.

It is appropriate here to thank everyone who has already contributed to the achievements of CS:GO. Whether it’s the line-up of blogg1s, Desty, Pechyn, luko, M1key and Levi, who attacked the top ranks at MČR or Sazka eLEAGUE in the fall, as well as everyone who is inextricably linked with the history of eSuba, led by benq1m, a newly minted hall of fame member.

From this year eSub begins a new era of CS:GO and we need to look ahead. Management’s main interest is that we can see eSuba on the scene for at least the next 18 years. We are taking all our steps for this.

Thank you for your understanding and we hope that you will continue to support us in the future.”
