Higher frequency, minimal drift – Intel releases the oldest 13th generation model

At CES, AMD unveiled the upcoming processors with V-Cache, which will significantly increase gaming performance. Competing Intel introduced and immediately released its answer – Core i9-13900KS, which promises frequencies up to 6 GHz.

There are not many reviews yet, apparently Intel did not send too many samples to the reviewers, but the YT Hardware Unboxed channel got the opportunity to test the processor. However, the results are somewhat surprising, with the new processor delivering no more than a few percent performance increase in multi-core performance and gaming, if any. At the same time, the special model has a price tag of more than $100 higher than the classic i9-13900K, namely $699.

AMD Fixes Issues With RDNA 3

In December, AMD released new graphics cards based on the RDNA 3 architecture. Reception was rather sluggish, but the biggest problems were not so much with the performance as with the performance of the cards. Users gradually began to report that the temperature of the so-called “hot spot” could rise to 110 degrees Celsius, which is definitely not good.

This turned out to be a vapor chamber issue, which was subsequently confirmed by AMD via Scott Herkelman. He acknowledged that there really is a problem, but it only concerns a limited batch, which is probably not entirely true. Temperature problems affected not only reference models, but also cards from AIB partners.
