A remake of the famous survival horror Silent Hill 2, which is being developed by the Polish studio Bloober Team, was announced in October last year. Gradually, we learn more details from various interviews, and one of these was provided by DreadXP magazine, which had the opportunity to interview the head of marketing Anna Yasinskaya.
She recalls that in 2019 they were invited to the Tokyo Game Show, where Konami, along with other studios, asked them to create a concept. “Of course, we were not the only rivals. Yasinskaya says. “Many other studios fought for this collaboration, but in the end it was our concept that captivated Konami. They understood our commitment and passion for horror films, and that alone was a great honor for us.” According to Yasinskaya, the staff were delighted when they found out that they would be working on a remake.
Perhaps the most important message is that the developers have no plans to radically change the story. “We’re staying true to the original story canon by reworking the gameplay and improving the graphics.” However, they made some changes when needed: “We remain true to the original. However, we are making changes in some places where things needed to be upgraded due to obsolescence.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is coming to PC and PlayStation 5, where it will be exclusive for 12 months. We don’t know a release date yet. But you can add the game to your wishlist on Steam.
