Don’t nod entered into an agreement with Netflix. The plan is to create a “narrative game based on a big brand.” Thus, since the beginning of the year, the studio has been pursuing a new strategy, which it established after extensive internal criticism. The game will be developed by a team from Canada. Montrealreleased an adventure game in the spring Lost Records: Bloom and Fury.

We don’t know much about the game; the announcement was made as part of the French studio’s semi-annual financial report. And the director Oscar Gilbert therefore primarily concerned with the company’s strategy: “We will continue our efforts to maintain and develop our own brands through co-productions and at the same time participate in externally licensed projects. Through the collaboration of all our teams, we will continue to maintain and strengthen a unique identity based on a strong story experience (…) and effective game mechanics.”

Don’t Nod began working not only on its own ambitious brands, but also on collaborations with third parties, after financial problems and layoffs, which culminated in an employee strike and subsequent negotiations with the union. He unveiled a new plan in February.

The Montreal branch celebrated its debut Lost Records: Bloom and Fury a relative success with critics, but even after the game’s release it did not escape criticism. “Don’t Nod returns to what it does best and proves that it’s the team that does it best. Lost Records captivates with well-written heroines and a fascinating narrative that is not afraid to explore even very complex topics,” we wrote about the game in review.
