STALKER 2 and the Zone spotted in new gameplay trailer

The trailer, assembled from the frames of the PC version, beckons Zone without borders with an open world and a number of elements familiar to fans of the STALKER series. The plot is clearly based on the consequences of the experiments of scientists in Chernobyl, about which we learned something back in 2007, i.e. in the first part, subtitled Shadow of Chernobyl. A number of locations, enemies, inventory items or weapons also give a familiar to intimate impression.

Needless to say the return of some traditional mechanics, such as collecting artifacts or throwing bolts upon contact with anomalies. But we were certainly most impressed by the general atmosphere. While examples of English voice acting or user interface aren’t necessarily enthusiastic, in terms of graphics, what we see is almost nothing to complain about.

In short, it looks good that the creators at GSC Game World have been able to make good use of the new Unreal 5 engine. feeling that the developers managed to capture in the modern version the unique atmosphere that the quirky X-Ray engine offeredwhich was used in previous games in the STALKER series. And to top it all off, the trailer confirms, among other things, that STALKER 2 will be released sometime in 2023. However, a specific release date is still unknown..
