More than two years have passed since the release of the second The Last of Us, but the brand is clearly far from being frozen. This year we saw a remake of the first part on the PlayStation 5 console, and in March next year the PC version will also be released. And in January, the expected series produced by HBO will be released. In addition, Naughty Dog is also working on a standalone out-of-this-world multiplayer game, but apparently that’s not all.
Nickname leak SpectatorAnon, who is mainly involved in the film industry, tweeted on Wednesday that The Last of Us Part 3 is already in development at Naughty Dog and that the game will be Neil Druckmann’s next project. Of course, there are many such “leaks” quite regularly, but this one actually comes from a trusted insider who (at least in the film industry) has a very good reputation.
While ViewerAnon writes that TLOU3 is “in production”, it’s unlikely that it’s actually in full production, it’s more likely that everything is being prepared in pre-production. Naughty Dog’s next big game has long been rumored to be an entirely new brand, though we don’t know much about it yet, including at least a proposed release. We’ll have to wait for more information, ideally official.
