Square Enix just released Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII – Reunion. This is about a vastly improved version of the original Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, which was released in 2008 for the PlayStation Portable. The remastered version, dubbed Reunion, is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

The plot of the game takes place seven years before the events of Final Fantasy VII and brings together the fate of Zack, Cloud, Sephiroth, Aerith or Tifa. The developers themselves hinted before the release that the new version will be more than just a remaster.

Among the highlights are a complete redesign of the graphics in HD resolution, a redesign of the 3D character and environment models, fully voiced dialogue in English and Japanese, a modified soundtrack from original composer Takeharu Ishimoto, or an improved combat system that should offer a much smoother experience. You can watch the launch trailer above in the preview.
