An expanded version of the law banning the propaganda of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders has come into force in Russia. Since 2013, the law has extended to minors and was supposed to protect them from propaganda “contrary to the traditions of sexual relations.” Now it’s extended to adults and in fact bans depictions of LGBT people in films, television, books, music, theater and video games..

The original plan also included products promoting homosexuality, pornography, cruelty and violence. But not without the fact that the Russian parliament wants a special law for this change. So far, games that promote LGBT people are banned in Russia.

Individuals who break the law face fines of up to 400,000 rubles ($6,400) and organizations up to 5 million rubles ($79,000). A proposal to make repeated violations of the law a criminal offense punishable by imprisonment was rejected.

Yana Lantratova, deputy chair of the State Duma committee on education, previously listed games that support LGBT people. In particular, Apex Legends, Assassin’s Creed, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Borderlands, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Fallout series, Life is Strange , The Last of Us, The Last of Us Part 2, RimWorld, Overwatch and The Sims.

All of them should be banned in Russia now.
