The new drivers greatly improve Arc’s performance in DX9 games.
In October, after long delays, we finally saw the release of Intel Arc graphics cards, namely the first generation Alchemist with the A770 and A750 models. But it hasn’t been without problems, and aside from application crashes and other generic pains, Intel Arc suffers especially in older versions. While titles using DirectX12 or Vulkan work just fine, with DX11 below it doesn’t so well. Therefore, Intel has shed light on the issues and significantly increased performance in the new drivers.
Of course, it depends on individual games, but for example, in the popular CS:GO shooter, this increase is up to 80%, which makes Intel Arc almost catch up with other cards of the RTX 30/RX 6000 generations. It is also much better, which is much more stable, which makes the whole experience smoother. Let’s hope Intel keeps improving drivers because it still has a long way to go.
Estimated RTX 4070 Specs
There have been a lot of rumors lately about the RTX 4070 Ti card, which is essentially supposed to be a rebadged 12GB RTX 4080 that was canceled in October. However, the RTX 4070 hasn’t been talked about without “Ti” for a long time, and now that has changed. The famous liquor kopite7kimi brought new information.
According to his new information, the 4070 is built on AD104, the same chip as the 4070 Ti. However, it only has 5888 CUDA cores, which is exactly the same as the RTX 3070. Unlike it, however, it should offer 12GB of GDDR6X VRAM and 36MB of L2 cache, all at a TDP of 250W.
We do not yet know exactly when this card will be released and how much it will cost. However, the RTX 4070 Ti is expected to be unveiled at CES in January and released shortly thereafter.
