The Star Trek film series doesn’t have many successful live-action adaptations. The latest Starship Troopers – Terran Command was a pass-through strategy game, but it wasn’t played perfectly due to a number of bugs, a not-so-great storyline, and relatively simple gameplay. However, a well-known brand knows how to evoke considerable emotions, so it is not surprising that he decided to use another game studio for his project. This time it was taken over by Offworld Industries, which, unlike the competing team, does not create a strategy, but a shooter. Yes, you read it right. Their new game, called Starship Troopers: Extermination, puts you as one of twelve Troopers, divided into groups of four, who must complete their mission, regardless of their own safety.
In total, three game classes are available to you. You will be offered a classic pawn, support and defense components. Each of the specializations will bring their own tools into battle to help them deal with whatever situation you and the rest of your squad find yourself in. One of the essential elements of the gameplay is building a base in Starship Troopers: Extermination. It is supposed to help you deal with hundreds of bugs, which will be hordes of five different forms that will steadily put pressure on you with their abilities and unique statistics.
A release date for Starship Troopers: Extermination is currently unknown. However, as part of Early Access, the game is not expected to arrive on PC until 2023.
