During Embracer Group’s latest financial report, its CEO Crystal DynamicsPhil Rogers of Xbox exclusive development Perfect Darkness continues”extremely good“.
Perfect Dark is the new installment of the series launched by Rare in 2000. The title is in development at: Attempt In collaboration with Crystal Dynamics. That’s why the Embracer Group team is taking on the role of co-developer, a practice that, according to Rogers, will be adopted by other projects and other publishers in the future.
“We are working on Perfect Dark and the project is progressing extremely well,” said the CEO of Crystal Dynamics. “It’s very encouraging to see from the inside how our team is embracing this opportunity, a new way of working.”
“As we think about the future of the way we work, collaboration across studios, time zones, geographies and different companies will become more pervasive, which is why it’s great to see The Initiative team and our Crystal Studios team collaborating so well.”
The same concept was expressed by Xbox Studios president Matt Booty in an interview published in early November, where he explained, among other things, that the collaboration between Crystal Dynamics and The Initiative for Perfect Dark is almost equal.
“Equal partners in development. This is not a case of Crystal Dynamics taking over or replacing it. [The Initiative]Booty said, “One hundred people came in with a great history of working with Tomb Raider. They’re available, they’re excited to work on Perfect Dark. That’s part of how you’re building a development team these days, not a sign that we’re trying to make up for anything.”
Perfect Dark currently does not have an official launch window. Maybe with development progressing so well, maybe it’s time for a new trailer and news at The Game Awards 2022 on December 9th.
