Rockstar once refused to shoot GTA with Eminem

Immediately after release Grand Theft Auto 3 it was possible to make a film that he would direct Tony Scott (Top shooter) and he’ll star Eminem. But Rockstar had to turn down the offer. The reason was supposed to be that the GTA brand was bigger than any movie coming out at the time.

Kirk Ewing, agent and co-founder of virtual avatar app Veemee, has revealed information about Bugzy Malone’s Grandest Game podcast. During the interview, he recalled special relationship with Sam Houser. This allowed him to talk late into the night with Rockstar’s co-founder and president in a hotel room about the possibility of making a film. However, nothing came of the idea.

It’s been over 20 years since GTA 3 came out on PS2. During this time, there have been several speculations about the film adaptation of Grand Theft Auto, but so far only a documentary has been shot. Game changers (2015), which is inspired by Sam Houser’s true story. He is played by Daniel Radcliffe in the film. Looks like Rockstar really isn’t interested in the movie.
