An MMO set in the League of Legends MOBA universe is one of the most anticipated games, at least among the fan community revolving around the famous brand. And no wonder. This is because it is a very well-developed universe with a varied set of interesting characters and, above all, with a story that many works can envy. The fact that story backstories are its forte was revealed last year by Netflix’s Arcane series, so many people just want to see more and, above all, be able to experience some adventure for themselves. But from the looks of it, it looks like the upcoming MMORPG won’t come to us by itself, as evidenced by an interview with executive producer Greg Street conducted by Kanon’s YouTube channel.
He commented on questions directed at the release date of the MMO version of League of Legends as follows:We want to be able to communicate when we have real information. When it suits us, we’ll start talking more about it, and it won’t be a grand opening – it will be a slow trickle that will take a long time.Therefore, we can work with the fact that we most likely will not see the game next year, but we will probably receive at least some information.
As for the game itself, it’s supposed to be a title with an elaborate game world that should match the lore of what’s currently featured in League of Legends. There will be no diversion. Street himself puts it this way:We want players to have that investment. We think of it this way: there are basic truths about the world and its characters, and if you violate them, it will be quite risky.“
We are offered several races and probably also classes that will have a connection with the heroes presented at the moment. However, it is to be expected that most of the characters will be of a humanoid type, because this universe is inhabited mainly by people of different races. However, nothing is impossible, so theoretically some monster from the Void could appear on the scene. But only time will tell what will become a reality and the associated flow of information that Greg Street spoke about in connection with an MMO game from the League of Legends universe.
