The new generation of The Witcher 3 finally has a release date

So we finally got it. It’s been a very long time due to the pending next gen update The Witcher 3which is now created directly in the Polish studio CD Projekt RED, tico. It almost looked like the update, which had been delayed several times, would not even make it to the end of this year.but, fortunately, this is not the case. The studio has just announced that the next generation update of the game’s final story about Geralt of Rivia will be available. December 14/December 2022.

However, previous assumptions were about December 9, so it is now known for sure that they were wrong, although not by much. However, it remains true that there will be improvements available for free, on PC, and on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. On PC it will be a classic update, in our libraries on Steam or GOG.com, the next generation version will not appear as a separate item in the library..

However, it’s not clear yet if only the GOTY edition will be updated or the original 2015 edition bundled with separately purchasable DLC. Both versions currently co-exist on PC.and although developers have hinted in the past that each version will be updated, during this long and difficult development, something could change.

In any case, we are waiting for various visual and technical improvements, including support for ray tracing, faster loading on consoles, or a few mods that will be integrated directly into the game itself. We can also continue to look forward to free DLC packs based on the series “The Witcher” from Netflix.. In particular, we can expect new weapons or armor for Geralt and alternative appearances for some characters.

However, if you already own The Witcher 3, you will receive the update for free. And if not you will be able to purchase a special version of the next generation game called The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition., which includes all Heart of Stone and Wine and Blood updates, free expansions, and story expansions. Initially, this version will be available digitally. later there will be a boxed edition.

The good news is that In the future, The Witcher 3 will also receive a new update on PS4, Xbox One and Switch consoles. While it won’t be a next-gen update per se, we can look forward to plenty of additions and improvements, as well as the aforementioned Netflix-inspired DLCs. We still don’t know when we’ll see these new features on older consoles, but again they’ll be free.

We need to know more details. next week when CD Projekt RED hosts another REDstream. So far, we have an initial image that comes from Belosad, that is, from the very beginning of The Witcher 3, and in which we can see Geralt and Vesemir on horseback. There is also a griffin in the picture.
