“From the earliest stages of development, our design concept worked with medieval Europe and included the historical, cultural, political and anthropological standards that prevailed at the time,” he says, “the inclusion of ethnic diversity in Valiste was important, too much however, the inclusion in this the corner of most of the larger world can lead to the violation of the narrative boundaries that we originally set for ourselves. Yes, the story we’re telling is fantasy, but it’s also grounded in reality.”

Naoki Yoshida also mentions that due to the complexity of the conflict taking place in the plot of the upcoming Final Fantasy, it will be difficult to choose who should be a positive and who should be a negative character. According to him, such a decision could cause speculation and controversy.

“Ultimately, we just want to focus less on what our characters look like and more on who they are as human beings – people are complex and diverse in nature, backgrounds, beliefs, personalities and motivations. People whose stories are close to us. There is variety in Valistea. A variety that, while not universal, fits the environment we created and fits the inspiration we draw from,” adds the producer.
