You can already watch the entire anime series on Netflix some Friday. Cyberpunk: Edge Runners, for which the talented studio Trigger and the Polish studio CD Projekt RED are responsible. And if you played Cyberpunk 2077on which the series is based, you probably thought every now and then Leonardo DiCaprio in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, who, in the now classic scene, points to the TV screen at the moment of recognition. Unfortunately, spoilers cannot be avoided during such a journey through the world of Cyberpunk, so proceed at your own risk if you have not completed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and have not played Cyberpunk 2077. MEGA BUILDING H4

In the Santo Domingo area, especially in the Arroyo area, it’s pretty hard not to notice the massive H4 mega building. Just here is the apartment of Gloria Martinez and her son David, the protagonist of the series. You cannot enter the building itself, but if you look carefully, you can see other places that are especially depicted in the first episode. Just in addition, a new side quest On the Edge begins in the H4 building, which has a direct connection with the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series. Just follow the sign on the map or look for David’s green emblem on his yellow jacket and put on a PV dropped nearby.

APARTMENT MARTINES

Martinez’s apartment itself should be familiar to anyone who’s played Cyberpunk 2077 for a while. While the standard V apartment you just can’t miss is located in the H10 mega building in a completely different part of Night City, namely Little China in the watson city, the design of the apartment is almost identical to where we first meet David and Gloria. Apparently, the Martinez do not have a cat named Ruzhula, no iguana, no plush troll named Shupe from Gwent: The Witcher. such details, the two apartments are practically the same.

RIPPER IN SANTO DOMINGO

Not far from megabuilding H4 is the embankment where the local ripper clinic is located. This is where the Ripper works, with whom David Martinez comes into contact in most episodes of the series. Although you will find someone else in the game, it is still the same clinic. This is evidenced, for example, by the logo of the Sixth Street gang at the entrance. In addition, this place is one of many examples of the not-so-pleasant fact that Czech dubbing or subtitles for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners often do not adhere to the Czech translation of Cyberpunk 2077. and related materials, especially the Cyberpunk 2077 Game World book. In the anime, Ripperdock is not translated as Ripper, but as Ripperdock, Felkar, or simply Doctor.

The translation of the technical terms of the cyberpunk world is different even when comparing dubbing and subtitles., so if you haven’t watched Edgerunners yet or are about to watch it again, we recommend avoiding Czech localization at all costs. Japanese or English dubs are harder than Czech dubs, and Czech subtitles miss so many things that it’s always better to switch to English. At first they were also not very high quality, they were just awful, but they were repaired relatively quickly. And we’re afraid no one will ever touch our headlines again.

CORPO PLAZA AND ARASAKA TOWER

Corpo Plaza and the adjacent Arasaka Tower, located in the center of Nighty City, play a big role in the series, especially in its finale. In Cyberpunk 2077, these two locations don’t play as much of a role, but if you choose to start your character as a corporation, Arasaka Tower is where you’ll start your gaming career. In addition, visiting during the game can be quite useful after downloading the recently released patch 1.6. If you look around Corpo Square a bit, you can easily find the Guts Power Shotgun that belonged to Rebecca., one of the most popular characters in the series. At the same time, Guts is a weapon that lives up to the character of its original owner, because under the flashy paintwork lies a huge power that will come in handy in any firefight. Despite the almost absurd return.

TURBO BAR AND LUCY’S APARTMENT

The group around David Martinez often meet at the Turbo bar during the series. The latter is located in Night City even when V is rampant in it, and can be found in Japantown in Westbrook, not far from the H8 mega building. In addition, the building where Lucy’s apartment is located is located nearby. You won’t fall again but with the help of cybersoftware that provides better jumping ability, it’s not such a problem to get on the roof of a building with a beautiful viewwhere Lucy kissed David several times. This is one of the places that best shows how conscientiously Studio Trigger has transformed the virtual night city into anime form. Because if you get on the roof with V, you will see absolutely everything that even the heroes of the series liked.

Pier in Heywood

Another rather important place where David and Lucy went not so much for a view as for a run is a huge pier. It is located on Corporation Street at Wellsprings in Heywood and in our screenshot from this location, we intentionally left the Rayfield Caliburn car, who we came here with as V. When you watch Edgergunners, you might also recognize Caliburn thanks to XPV author Jimmy Kurosaki’s character. We certainly didn’t leave the car there because an unnamed Indiana editor liked it.

QIWI APARTMENT

The creators of the series did it quite cleverly. use the interiors you visit while completing various tasks in Cyberpunk 2077 as the backdrop for a whole series of scenes. Particularly avid gamers will easily recognize locations inspired by Rebecca and Pilar’s apartment or David and Lucy’s hangout. But perhaps the most striking connection can be found between Kiwi’s apartment and the suite where businesswoman Regina works in the game. The reason is the massive windows overlooking Night City, which are very clearly visible in one of the scenes of the series and which make Regina’s workplace on Sutter Street unsightly. Watson in the Kabuki area is easy to remember. During the game, you may even stumble upon the place where Kiwi ended her treacherous journey. Just find the Eastern Republic travel point and look around a bit.

GRAVE CLUB

Club Afterlife or Záhrobí, mistranslated as Onen svět in the series’ Czech subtitles, has always played a big role in the cyberpunk world. You can already find references to him in tabletop role-playing games. Cyberpunk 2020 from R. Talsorian Games, which was largely based on CD Projekt RED when developing Cyberpunk 2077. Which is why it probably won’t surprise anyone that Watson’s Little China business appears multiple times in the series. The graveyard is where all real cyberpunks go to have fun and make other deals.while observant viewers may also spot Rogue Amendiares’ character in one fleeting scene while watching Edgerunners.

Rogue, who in Cyberpunk 2077 serves as the merchant and current operator of Zachrobi, is also one of the regulars in the Cyberpunk world. Like Adam Smasher, another characters you can meet on the Cyberpunk 2020 website while playing Cyberpunk 2077 and watching the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime. But you would probably look in vain for Smasher in Zagreb. However, you can buy it here as V instead. drink named after David Martinez. That is, if in one of the side quests you did not piss off the barmaid Claire so much that she will no longer sell you even a used napkin.

One way or another, David got his way and became one of the legends of cyberpunk. With this awareness and willful ignorance of the fact that we the quest On the brink suggests that David’s story is actually a frightening example, we can end our little pilgrimage through the metropolis created by Richard Knight. See you guys soon, and feel free to share any other tips for interesting or TV-related locations in Night City in the comments. And if you’re wondering where the article’s cover came from, we’ll direct you to the Twitter account. Rafal Yaki, producer and showrunner of Cyberunk: Edgerunners. He published this very interesting drawing in the context of a serial story quite recently, and in different formats and sizes.
