Looks like Valve is finally in the mood to dress up various parts of Steam in a more modern coat. A globally popular topic was, for example, a major update of the mobile application, which became more beautiful and received new functions. Now the company is focusing on the next part of its platform. The result will be that you you will be able to use the Steam Deck portable console interface on a Windows PC.
Valve is getting ready gigantic Big Picture transformation, whose name already implies that it is intended for playing on large screens. Due to the fact that the Steam Deck interface will be used, we can look forward to better work with controller. Playing on TV from the comfort of your couch will be even more fun.

At the moment there is a new interface at the testing stage, but the developers are already beckoning with big news. We will see the home screen from which it will be possible to easy to continue playing latest games. We will also be able to read news from our favorite publications on it. It will be located at the top universal search designed for poking around in the library, store and friends list.
As I said, it will be more convenient to work with the controller. Associated with this is a number of new controls. Valve notes:
- Updated the in-game overlay to access achievements and walkthroughs. Can be opened by pressing the “Steam/Xbox/PS” button while playing.
- System menu for easy navigation between different parts of the interface. Can be summoned by pressing the “Steam/Xbox/PS” button.
- Quick access menu with notifications, friends list, quick settings and more. Can be opened with a combination of buttons “Steam / Xbox + A” or “PS + cross”.
If you want to take part in testing yourself, update steam to beta version (can be done in the service settings). Once you’ve done that, add a Steam shortcut to launch “– gamepad(remove quotes).
