Head of Xbox Phil Spencer, in a recent interview for the YouTube channel Same Brain, made another important statement that Sony should at least calm down in the case of Call of Duty. It focuses on future days and essentially extends over a period of several years.
Commenting on his vision for the future, Spencer said: “We are not removing Call of Duty from PlayStation… It is not our intention,” Spencer said. “It’s not our intent, and as long as there’s a PlayStation to deliver, we intend to keep bringing Call of Duty to the PlayStation – just like we’ve done with Minecraft since we’ve had it.” We’ve expanded the places where people can play Minecraft, we haven’t reduced the number of places. And it’s been good, it’s been good for the Minecraft community – in my opinion – and we want to do the same as we think about where Call of Duty could go over the years.“
According to him, the main advantage should be the fact that the Activision Blizzard offer will be added to Game Pass, thanks to which the community will be given the opportunity to either buy a AAA game for 70 euros or play it through the Microsoft service. In addition, according to the company, removing games from the PlayStation ecosystem does not make sense. The UK regulator’s decision is slowly approaching, so the current announcements could help in reaching a final verdict that will no doubt have some impact on the direction the gaming industry takes in the coming years.
